Winter shipping is safe when temperature swings are controlled. Here’s how we handle cool-season boxes and what to do when they arrive.
How we pack
- Insulated liners and heat packs are matched to route length.
- Fish are fasted 24 hours before shipping to keep water clean.
- We avoid dispatch before weekends or public holidays.
When the box arrives
- Bring it indoors immediately; avoid leaving it on a porch.
- Float bags to match temperature, then mix tank water slowly for 20–30 minutes.
- Keep the tank at 24–25°C for the first week; add a sponge filter for extra oxygen.
If your room is chilly, consider a small foam board under the tank to prevent heat loss through the base and close windows to avoid cold drafts.
